QualificationsSince the summer of 2002, I've been teaching math and computer programming courses for K-8 kids in the Saturday Enrichment and Summer Programs of Northwestern's Center for Talent Development, working with world class researchers to deliver world class learning experiences. My teaching background also includes tutoring at a Sylvan Learning Center for K-8 kids, volunteer tutoring in math with K-10 kids, teaching an undergrad course here at Northwestern and TAing undergrad and graduate courses at Northwestern, three years as Montessori teacher with kids aged 2-12. I have also worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst in academia (Northwestern, Oregon Health Sciences University) and industry (Manufacturers Hanover, Ogilvy & Mather, AT&T). Leone Learning Systems, Inc. (LLS) is a North Shore company that provides online courses for kids anywhere and local teaching and tutoring services for students in Chicago and the Northern Suburbs of Chicagoland. LLS also provides a free geometry software package for children age 6 and up, and free resources for teachers and parents. This site includes information about classes taught, availability for tutoring, learning activities for kids, lesson plans, and an ongoing software and curriculum research and development effort. |
