Context

I should include a couple of paragraphs with some background on designing for work.

  • How should designers go about learning what they need to know to create useful innovations in work practice?
    • Preparation and reading of media (includes interviews and literature that discusses practice and tool use as well as design of practice and tool use)
    • Demonstration and observation of tool use
    • Observation and participation in practice
  • How should designers apply what they have learned to their designs?
    • Using design patterns to take advantage of solved design problems
    • Using metaphors for work practice and artifacts
